Attached to a Classic Center Hall Colonial, this conservatory was an undefined space for a family with teenage children. I appreciated the traditional décor of the rest of the home and interpreted the clients desire for relaxation and comfort into a space that is intimate via function.
Multiple seating options were established, catering to a variety of scenarios reading alone, chatting over tea or group lounging. The options provide a subconscious and real level of warmth as the space fulfills a variety of needs.
The fabrics incorporated are intentionally tactile and complimentary to the formality of the rest of the home. Linen, chenille-jute and sea grass make the space touchable and approachable, encouraging ease and conversation.
